Dear everyone,
I am a new member and I think that it could be a good thing to present my work as an introduction. I am a passionate stone sculptor who works with limestone, marble and alabaster. I also like writing about the philosophy in the art (in the practical and down to earth way) as I was writing short stories before embracing sculpture. I have been carving seriously since 2004 and so far, it has been a very steep learning curve. I have no formal training but I have learnt from stone masons, master sculptors, by reading books, visiting studios an obviously trying to push the boundaries at my own pace.
I have been elected an associate of the Royal British Society of Sculptors (London) and I am followed by my master Helaine Blumenfeld since 2008.
I would be grateful if you could have a look at my work as indicated below, especially is something could be improved or better explained as sometimes, I can go into great depths. I suppose that a few people could also be interested in the non-technical sections as well as the portfolio. I hope it could be interesting for you to read about what inspires me by looking at the section "feelings", "inspiration" and "philosophy of life". Very soon, a technical section will be added to the website alongside a film on Youtube about the carving process. (They are in the making).
Take care and thanks in advance.
Frederic
